Anna-Katharina is a research assistant with teaching responsibilities at the Chair of China Business and Economics.
Anna-Katharina Schaper holds a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Political Science and Economics from Heidelberg University and a master’s degree (MSc) in China Business and Economics from Würzburg University. Anna-Katharina also studied Chinese language and diplomacy at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Throughout her studies, she gained working experience at the Volkswagen Group, the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA), and Maxxelli Consulting.
Field of Research
Since April 2018, Anna-Katharina is a doctoral candidate at the Chair of China Business and Economics. In her doctoral dissertation, Anna-Katharina conducts research about female entrepreneurship in China. In addition, her research interests also lie in foreign direct investment in China and Chinese second-tier cities. From September 2019 to August 2020, Anna-Katharina was a scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and conducted research at Peking University.
