    Anna-Katharina Schaper, M.Sc.

    Anna-Katharina is a research assistant with teaching responsibilities at the Chair of China Business and Economics.

    Résumé

    Anna-Katharina Schaper holds a bachelor’s degree (BA) in Political Science and Economics from Heidelberg University and a master’s degree (MSc) in China Business and Economics from the University of Würzburg. During her studies, she spent a year abroad at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Shanghai International Studies University (2013-2014) and gained China-related work experience at the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA), the Volkswagen Group (Wolfsburg), and Maxxelli Consulting (Chengdu).

    Since April 2018, Anna-Katharina works as a research associate at the Chair of China Business and Economics at the University of Würzburg. Her research interests cover China’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, with a focus on Chinese women’s entrepreneurship. During her doctoral studies, she spent one year as a visiting doctoral student at Peking University (2019-2020). 

    Anna-Katharina is part of several German/European-Chinese young leaders programs. Examples are the MERICS European China Talent Program (2021), Yenching Global Symposium (2021), OAV Young Leaders (since 2021), Hamburg Summit Young Leaders (2018), Heinz Nixdorf Asia-Pacific fellowship program (2016).
