Guest Speaker:
- Dr. Shiqiang Gao "Career Paths for Young Researchers in China"
Dr. Shiqiang Gao is the group leader of the Optogenetics Lab at the Institute of Physiology, University of Würzburg. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology in China, followed by two years as a researcher at the National University of Singapore. In 2015, he completed his PhD at the University of Würzburg, where he focused on studying the function of photoreceptors and applying them as genetic tools. His research work is highly interdisciplinary and supported by broad international collaborations with researchers in Germany, China, Israel, the UK, and the US. At the upcoming workshop, Dr. Gao will share his insights on academic career development in China, drawing on his experience navigating research environments in both China and Germany.
