Subject groups
In view of the size and subject diversity of the Faculty of Arts, related subjects are grouped together into subject groups. These subject groups consolidate the interests of the associated disciplines and represent them within and towards the faculty. In addition, it is intended that the Faculty Council should include one member from among the professors belonging to each subject group.
1. Subject group Classical and Ancient Studies
The subject group Classical and Ancient Studies consists of the Institute of Classical and Ancient Studies and the Institute of Classical Philology.
2. Subject group German Philology
The subject group German Philology consists of the Institute of German Philology.
3. Subject group Foreign Language Studies
The subject group Foreign Language Studies consists of the Institute of Modern Languages and the Institute of East and South Asian Cultural Studies.
4. Subject group History
The subject group History consists of the Institute of History and the Institute of Art History.
5. Subject group Music Research
The subject group Music Research consists of the Institute of Music Research.
6. Subject group Geography
The subject group Geography consists of the Institute of Geography and Geology.
