Dr. Hannes Gohli

Hannes Gohli is a research assistant at the Chair of China Business and Economics. His research is funded by the DFG.

Résumé

Hannes Gohli completed a Bachelor of Arts at the Syddansk Universitet in Sønderborg Denmark and holds a Master of Science from the University of Würzburg, both in the fields of China Business and Economics. He then commenced his doctoral degree as part of the DFG-funded research project ‘Political Steering of Strategic Industries in China: Assessing renewable energy transition management’ with his dissertation focusing on the case of the Chinese smart grid.

Field of Research

His doctoral thesis focuses on understanding China's energy transition and how policies are designed at the centre in order to instigate change at the local level of government. His primary interests lie in sustainable development and urbanisation, as well as understanding the intricacies of policymaking in the People's Republic of China.
