Würzburg's Sinology has a research profile that is unique in Germany and offers a very broad range of courses that allow students to specialise in different fields of study. These include the history of China as well as the politics, economy and society of modern China. Chinese Studies M.A.

The Master's degree programme in Chinese Studies is aimed at graduates of BA programmes in Chinese Studies. As a research-oriented degree programme, it aims to create the prerequisites for further academic engagement with China. To this end, various theoretical and methodological perspectives of China research are taught. Students can choose to focus on either pre-modern or contemporary China. In addition, intensive language lessons are offered. The third semester is taught at Peking University (ECLC).

Chinese Politics and Society M.A.

The Master's programme "Chinese Politics and Society" is aimed at graduates of social science Bachelor's programmes. The two-year study programme (120 ECTS) includes classes in Chinese society and politics, Chinese language (starting at a beginner's level), general political science and China studies. As part of the language training, this programme includes a semester abroad at Peking University. Classes are taught in English, Chinese (language training) and German.

China Business and Economics M.Sc.

The Master's degree programme "China Business and Economics" is aimed at students with a B.A. in Sinology or a comparable degree. The two-year study programme (120 ECTS) includes classes in Chinese business, economics and business administration (at the B.A. and M.A. levels), advanced Chinese and China studies. The programme is taught in German, English and Chinese.
