The library of the Chair of Comparative Philology currently contains more than 13,000 books on Indian, Iranian, Greek, Latin, Germanic, Celtic, Baltic, Slavic, Armenian, Tocharian, Hittite, Albanian; non-Indo-European languages, especially Ancient Near Eastern, Finno-Ugric, Caucasian languages, but also many other language families; the sections on Indo-European Studies and General Linguistics are very extensive. Furthermore, there are sections on cultural, written and religious history as well as numerous scientific journals.
Access to the library premises is not completely barrier-free. Workstations and technical equipment are available in sufficient quantities.
Our library is basically a pure reference library. However, it is possible to borrow books and journals under the conditions of the general guidelines.
