New DGA Young Scholar Group Representatives Elected from Our Institute

At the International Conference of the Young Scholars’ Group of the German Association for Asian Studies (DGA), held from May 9–11, 2025, in Leipzig, Anastasia Kostromina, M.A., and Benedikt Lasar, M.Sc., were elected as new representatives of the DGA Young Scholar Group.

Their appointment continues a tradition of involvement from our Sinology institute, following a previous generation of representatives from our department. In their new roles, Ms. Kostromina and Mr. Lasar will contribute to the coordination of academic activities and the promotion of scholarly exchange among early-career researchers in Asian studies throughout Germany.

This renewed representation also strengthens our institute’s presence within national academic networks and supports continued collaboration in the field. We warmly congratulate them on this recognition and wish them every success in their new responsibilities.
