Forschungsschwerpunkte
Pfade und Mechanismen des Sprachwandels (Lautwandel, morphosyntaktischer Wandel); Sprachverwandtschaft und vergleichende Rekonstruktion; Nuristan-Sprachen (Sprachbeschreibung und Sprachgeschichte); mitteliranische Sprachen (Baktrisch, Epigraphie der Issyk-Kuschana-Schrift); semitische, afroasiatische, nordostkaukasische und mesoamerikanische Sprachen.
Kurzbiographie
Jakob Halfmann studierte Linguistik und Sprachen & Kulturen der Islamischen Welt in Leipzig, Tokio und Köln. Seine Promotion zum Thema „A Grammatical Description of the Katë Language (Nuristani)“ schloss er 2023 an der Universität zu Köln ab. Aktuell arbeitet er im Rahmen eines von der DFG im Walter-Benjamin-Programm geförderten Forschungsprojekts an einem etymologischen Wörterbuch des nominalen Wortschatzes der Nuristan-Sprachen.
