50 Years of Sinology in Würzburg

Leading up to the 23rd of November 2015, the 50th anniversary of the Sinology department at the University of Würzburg, a series of activities were organized, culminating in a ceremonial lecture and champagne reception.

One of the activities that drew attention from students, alumni and friends was a photo competition held on the theme of ‘People, City, Country’, which produced a gallery of astonishing images from contributors associated with the Sinology department in Würzburg. Further information on the competition can be found below.

On the 23rd of November there was also an open day for alumni and guests, as well as an event that brought together past graduates and current students of the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes to offer ‘Perspectives after Graduation’.

In addition, a raffle was held, where proceeds were donated to a school in Yunnan financed by charitable donations.

The complete anniversary programme, a special brochure and further information on the 50 years of Sinology in Würzburg can be found below.
